With Spaas, we are taking an important step towards a greener future. Step by step, we are focusing more on transport by rail. Not only because the roads are becoming increasingly congested, but above all because we want to reduce our ecological footprint and make our logistics more efficient.

Reducing our impact on the environment

At Spaas, we believe that every step counts towards a more sustainable future. Until now, our candles have been delivered to our warehouse in Lommel by truck, accounting for 2 to 7 containers per week. This results in a lot of road kilometres and CO₂ emissions. That is why we are increasingly looking at alternatives for our goods transport. Not only because the roads are becoming increasingly congested, but above all because it is a conscious choice to reduce our impact on the environment and organize our logistics in a smarter and more sustainable way.

Step by step towards a greener future

By gradually increasing our use of rail transport, we are reducing our CO₂ emissions. It's a small change with a positive impact on the environment. However, we cannot always choose rail transport. The season plays a major role in our products. At high temperatures, candles can deform, and at low temperatures, the fragrances can crystallize. In a truck, we can keep temperatures more stable, which is essential for the quality of our candles.

But under the motto ‘where there's a will, there's a way’, we continue to research and test how we can get our products to our customers in a more future-oriented way. In this way, we are strengthening our sustainability ambitions and reducing our impact on the environment.
