Environmentally friendly business is high on Spaas' agenda. The 2,172 brand-new solar panels on our roofs underline that sustainability promise.

Insaver, part of the Luminus Group, pulled off the ambitious project and guided us in the transition to 100% green energy.

100% green energy

The solar panels are spread across the five roofs of the plant in Hamont-Achel. They have a capacity of 803 kWp and together produce 763,500 kWh of green energy on an annual basis. That is roughly equivalent to the consumption of 200 families.

Two birds with one stone!

70% of the generated green power is used for own consumption, the rest flows back into the grid. Thus, a sloppy 176 tonnes of CO2 disappear every year. We see not only the energy bill, but also our ecological footprint shrinking as a result of this operation.
