Three Christmas table decorating ideas

Is everyone invited to your home this year for Christmas dinner? A beautifully decorated table is a fabulous start! Regardless of whether the dinner is a success, your family will at the very least be impressed by your decorating skills. With a bit of creativity, a few attractive accessories and our handy tips, your dining room will be looking fantastic in no time! Get inspired and learn how to decorate your holiday table in three different styles.

“Classic” Christmas table

This classic wintery style lets you create a magical ambiance. It is the perfect example of how you can create an inviting space with only a few materials. Start with an attractive neutral tablecloth or runner. With a classic Christmas table, the ambiance is in the details, such as sparkling tableware and cutlery with a vintage feel. Add to that a variety of elegant napkins, rustic ivory candles or candles placed in classic Mason jars. Another fun touch is to hang a few shiny Christmas tree decorations from different heights above the table. Complete the look with a few pinecones scattered across the table.

“Modern Chic” Christmas table

This style is modern, yet friendly and elegant. Copper is the latest home and decorating trend. When setting a modern table, it is not customary to use a tablecloth. Another trend is to highlight a rugged wooden table. If you prefer to protect your holiday table, use two runners in pastels. Tableware should have a modern, white and sleek design. To give the entire ensemble a personal touch, decorate the table with copper-coloured or wooden accessories like candleholders, vases, stars, etc. To combine a warm ambiance with a modern style, spread out a number of Clearlights across the table. Copper-coloured and wooden accents are the perfect finishing touch.

“Traditional” Christmas table

An abundance of red is a clear trend with traditional Christmas tables. So make sure that red dominates by using a red tablecloth or tableware. For the details, use combinations of silver or white, which add an extra festive, cosy touch. For example, you can use the silver Festilux dinner candles combined with tea lights in Weck jars to decorate your Christmas table. Add lovely napkins and wooden accessories to create a warm Christmas atmosphere.

Tip 1: Put a small candle at every place setting. This will make your guests feel extra welcome, which adds to the inviting ambiance.

Tip 2: Use a basic colour for the tablecloth and a runner as an additional accent. Then choose a main colour for your candles and napkins. Then add accessories in matching colours.
